word on how bad each of these crimes were, how long they were sentenced, etc. If all they were reporting on were parole board procedures then the nature of the crimes, length of original sentence, etc would not matter at all. Writer clearly wants his readers to believe these are bad people who should still be in jail and the ultimate failure is that they were granted parole.
Maybe parole board didn’t follow procedures in some of these. Maybe some of these should not have been granted. I’m not sure. Just trying to give another side to this story. What I am suggesting is that for a long period the parole board also stopped following the intent of the assumptions of the parole system as was in place at the time many of these people were sentenced and drastically reduced the parole grant rate. Some of these people would likely have been granted parole and out years ago had the parole system continued to operate as everyone understood it did at the time of their convictions.
